Singapore
Guess what surprising item is illegal to be imported into Singapore! It’s chewing gum! So, you could be fined if they caught you with a gum. This law was established in 1992. Locals now believe that gum is harmful to both human health and the environment.
If you’re going on a trip to Singapore, you should better leave your watermelon-flavored gum at home and enjoy a breath mint instead. This rule was enforced to keep public areas clean. However, dental or nicotine gum is legal.

In 2015, those who got overweight were fined. The reason behind this law is to fight obesity and its associated diseases.
India
In the Indian state, Kerala, a fat tax was established a couple of years ago. Restaurants taxed 14.5 percent for donuts, pizza, hamburgers, tacos, and other fatty fast foods.
The country’s Finance Minister claimed that this fat tax is a preventive action due to the radical change in food habits in Kerala and the fact that locals are now consuming plenty of junk food while neglecting traditional dishes.
