7. Guatapé, Colombia

It will take you a bumpy three-hour bus ride from Medellin to get to the small traditional village of Guatepé – but it is worth the trip. The houses there were built during the colonial period and are embellished with tantalizing paintings of sunflowers, lamas, parrots, and even guitars. At Plaza de Zocalos, you will find many delightful places where you can have a drink while enjoying the colorful surroundings.

8. Seven Coloured Earths, Chamarel, Mauritius

This absolutely stunning colorful scenery originated from the decomposition of volcanic rocks, and now, you can visit a series of very colorful and gorgeous dunes in the middle of a tropical rainforest. From violet to red, through yellow and blue, it is absolutely incredible to see – and it is even best at sunrise when the colors appear to be more vibrant.

9. Cinque Terre, Italy

Cinque Terre is made from five small villages, and they are all an absolute delight. Pilling on each other by the coastline, you have a myriad of beautiful colorful houses that make these villages by the Ligurian Sea one of the most beautiful postcards of Italy. Paired with the clean and amazing calm turquoise waters, this is a place you have to visit at least once in your lifetime.

10. La Boca, Buenos Aires, Argentina

We have a tendency to always seek out the most popular parts of each city we visit, but La Boca, in Buenos Aires, is a vibrant working-class suburb that will make your chin drop. Celebrating the district’s immigrant heritage, the neighborhood’s colorful buildings show pride in the humble origins of this place that is now bursting with life with bars, cafes, and its modern art museum, Fundación Proa.

11. Tulip fields, Keukenhof, The Netherlands

The Netherlands is one of the safest places you can visit in the world, and if you have the chance, try to visit between March and May – that is when the fields blossom and turn into a colorful flowery kaleidoscope as the famous tulips bloom. Afterward, the tulips are picked, and they are sent to all corners of the world, as it is an important source of revenue for the country – but the fact that this is something ephemeral makes it even more special.
