12. Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast: Fall River, Massachusetts

Lizzie Borden killed her father and stepmother in 1892 using an ax in this very house. But still, someone thought it was an excellent idea to turn this house of horrors into a bed and breakfast hotel. If you are a lover of the occult and paranormal activity, this hotel is the ideal place to spend a scary vacation. The house is just as it was when the murderer lived there, so it’s just like living inside a real ghost story. But be aware: if you see a ghost or experience anything abnormal, the B&B will not refund you for your early departure.

13. Hotel Del Coronado: Coronado Island, San Diego

If you want to enjoy a seaside getaway, this Victorian hotel may be the place for you. However, you better prepare yourself to deal with ghostly apparitions. In 1892, a young woman named Kate Morgan checked in at this hotel. After five days of waiting for a mysterious man, she was found dead. To this day, no one really knows what happened. What they do know is that the spirit of this young woman still haunts the room where she stayed back in 1892, as well as the hallways of the third floor.

14. The Grand Hotel: Mackinac Island, Michigan

This five-star hotel has been a landmark in the country since it opened its doors. The Victorian atmosphere can be noticed even in the smallest details, and guests can only ride in horse-drawn carriages. However, ghost stories are almost as old as the hotel itself. Many say that the ghost of a man in a top hat plays the piano in the hotel lounge, and others testify that they have seen the ghost of a woman in a Victorian dress wandering around the place.

15. The Stanley Hotel: Estes Park, Colorado

Iconic among ghost hunters, the Stanley Hotel inspired the literary classic The Shining, written by Stephen King and later turned into a movie by Stanley Kubrick. Allegedly, the original owner of the hotel and his wife still haunt the place. Stephen King stayed in room 217, and many seem to think that this particular room is haunted by Mrs. Wilson, a former housekeeper who worked at the hotel. If you are into spooky stuff, you can be a part of one of the many ghost tours at this hotel.
