The 6 Best US Places To Spend A White Christmas

Last Updated on December 10, 2020

© pixabay Christmas is just around the corner, and everyone must be ready to party and enjoy their white Christmas in the most wonderful place you can find. This includes, of course, lots and lots of snow! How else would you celebrate a white Christmas without it? I know there’s a pandemic, and some people are still afraid of getting on a plane to fly to the white Christmas destination they’ve been dreaming about since last year. But if everyone follows health recommendations, everything should be fine. This said, before you decide what will be your Christmas destination, you have to ask yourself – and your family – a couple of questions. Do we want just a little bit of snow or lots of it? Do we want to go skiing or just enough to make a snowman? Do we want a city-style or country style? Are we traveling by car or by plane? If by plane, should we get travel insurance or not? As for the latter, I vote for travel insurance because we never know what may happen). It’s a lot to think about, indeed, but you can only enjoy your Christmas if you plan it in advance! And to help you with all this decision, I’m going to give you the best U.S. places to spend a white Christmas, either with your friends or your family!

1. Lake Placid, New York

New York is the city that never sleeps and the number 1 Christmas destination for Americans and all people worldwide. But let’s forget the stores and go for the shores—the shores of Lake Placid. Here, during December, you can find an average of 25 inches of snow and a whole lot of fun! You can get there using the Adirondack Regional Airport in Saranac Lake, N.Y., and then drive only 20 minutes to get to the resort. Or you can take the train directly from New York City via Amtrak that includes a shuttle to the resort. There you can take on the festivities of the streets, see all the lights, and a one lifetime chance to ride a dogsled run on Mirror Lake in the Olympic Oval. Indeed a spectacular white Christmas destination.
