it is preferable though to bring aboard airline approved snacks so that you will not die of hunger. If you reserve any of those low price flights, you should not be expecting any sort of meals to be served.

For the record, alcoholic beverages are not the only liquids banned from passing through security. Bottled water is another. Before arriving at the security line, you need to consume that bottle of water you got.

There are exceptional situations where your bottled water can get through; when it is less than 3.4 oz. In case you are traveling with an infant, you will be allowed to carry Nestle bottled water or Perrier water bottle aboard for them.

Canned food

In reality, you are permitted to bring canned food into the security line, but be poised for extra screening which will take a long time. After checking your bags on x-ray, you will be required to open the bag to be checked in hand by the TSA.

The latter advises passengers to never bring such foods to the airport or try to send them shipped to their destination when possible. This is applicable also to canned alcoholic drinks.

We know that you are thinking that you may starve in your destination, but you will be just wasting your time in the security line while you should be aboard, getting ready for takeoff.

Restricting items may be for different purposes inclusive of security and safety ones.

We have just said that alcoholic beverages and bottled water are forbidden, and this holds true to any other liquids. These could include dips/spreads, gravy, jams, honey, maple syrup, peanut butter, wet pet food, creamy cheeses, sauces, soup, salsa, hummus, and many other liquid foods.

Bringing or not bringing fruits and veggies depends on the destination you are heading to. In case of permitting the carriage of such foods, you are allowed to pack them in either your checked bags or your carry-ons.
