3. Changes to United MileagePlus
This change is going to affect mainly passengers who have grown used to flying with United, especially those who have grown to rack up those united airlines miles. People who fly with United are now only available to accumulate miles based on Premier Qualifying Points and Premier Qualifying Flights. This is a serious change to the United Airlines MileagePlus program, and calling United Airlines customer service is not going to solve anything.
4. Seats reduction from Delta
If you are used to flying with Delta Airlines, here is some Delta Airlines news: The short version of Delta is also set to introduce some change.
This is the long version: These changes have to do with reclining seats inside the plane, in particular, the A320 planes that belong to Delta Airlines fleet. Therefore, if you find out that you are flying in this plane model, rest assured that there will be a limit to how far you can recline your seat. This plane model is used mostly for domestic flights, which hopefully will not cause that much of a disruption to passengers. Of course, this will not cause a drop in the Delta Airlines stock!
5. Legroom is getting narrower
This is another point of contention between airlines and passengers, and passengers are the ones that seem to suffer too much from it. If you search legroom by airline, you are not likely to find that they vary a lot. Moreover, now that we’ve made it to 2020, airlines are determined to decrease legroom a lot. Although research is being carried into whether decrease legroom can affect evacuation times in case of emergencies, it is unlikely that airlines will listen. It is very rare to find the best legroom airlines.
6. Sustainability
Sustainability is something that is requested from every industry in the world to consider, because climate change is a reality, and if we do not do something about it, bad things are going to happen in the world—in fact, they are already happening. Some of the things Airlines are trying to do is impose eco-taxes, especially on domestic flights, in hopes that they could decrease their carbon footprint. It is probable, therefore, that you notice this change affecting flight ticket booking, for example, while you are shopping for a ticket on online flight booking systems.
