9. Don’t boil your underwear in the kettle
This one sounds like something that nobody does, but it’s on this list because people have done it. Their excuse? They were trying to freshen up their underwear.
Disturbing, right? This is very unhygienic, to say the least. So, in case there is a generalized lack of common sense, we are here to let you know that boiling your intimate clothing on the hotel kettle is not ok, ok?
10. Don’t use the throw pillows
If the throw pillows on your bed don’t seem to have removable sleeves, avoid using them. Why? Because without removable sleeves, you are never sure if the pillows have been cleaned properly.
Imagine the number of faces, backs, and butts that have rested on those pillows. You can’t see the tiny germs, but they are there, we assure you.
11. Don’t hang your coat on the fire sprinkler
This is something that lazy people seem to do a lot when staying at hotels. Instead of opening the closet and use a proper hanger, they will hang their coats on the fire sprinkler.
This is quite a bad idea because it might set off the fire alarm or, even worst, it might burst a pipe and flood your entire room.
12. Do not send private information using the hotel wi-fi
You might be staying at a safe hotel, but is the wi-fi as safe as the premises? Just in case, don’t test that safety and avoid using hotel wi-fi to conduct important deals or to send sensitive information.
If you really must send private or delicate documents using the hotel wi-fi, be sure to use encryption first, it is always better to play it safe.
13. Don’t dye your hair at the hotel
This is one of those things that should go without saying because, once again, it’s pretty common sense. However, a friendly reminder doesn’t hurt: if you are considering changing your hair color, wait until you go home.
